Description
This is an extremely fine vintage watercolour painting by W. W. Powell, signed and dated '1948'.It is of an old house in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and it has a label with some information on the artist attached to the back of the board it's mounted on.
The details are exquisite: every brick, glass panel in the lattice windows, beam and door is painted in great detail - clearly the work of an exceptionally talented artist.
The proportions, angles and perspective look perfect to me, as do the shadows & contrast.
The painting is on a textured paper measuring 23 x 30.5 cm and is mounted on a 30 x 38 cm board.
Condition: some damage to the edges & corners of the mount & some marks.
