Description

It is a stunning Plate Early in the 1930's, Josef Kuba, a porcelain decorator, opened a decorating business in the city of Carlsbad, which during the 1930's was on Czechoslovakian soil. When WW II broke out, the area was overrun by German forces and occupied until 1945. After the end of the war, Josef started over in the town of Wiesau (Bavaria). Since then, his work was mostly based on pieces from the Schumann facility (from Arzberg, Bavaria). Some of the better known pieces are based on products from Heinrich & Co. (from Selb, Bavaria), especially the pieces which show transfer paintings after French artist Jean-Honore' Fragonard, depicting courting couples.
