Description

Fantastic French Japy Freres slate mantel clock with a French bronze sculpture adorning it. The bronze is of a young lady with a flower basket and titled 'Bouquetiere' (flower seller) The bronze has a lovely patina and finish to it which comes up an absolute treat when polished. The piece does bear an un-confirmed signature however we believe it to be by an artist of talent due to the way the lady's features have been captured. The movement is a quality French 8-day striking piece which has been fully restored. The ivory coloured dial is showing some signs of wear however this is certainly in keeping with it's age. Convex glass to the face. c1860
