This poster is a newsprint hoarding from the Evening Standard, a daily newspaper available in London and the South East of England. The major news story of the day was the death of John Lennon and the hoarding announced this.

John Lennon, a founder member of The Beatles, was shot dead on 8 December 1980, outside the Dakota apartment building, New York, by crazed fan Mark Chapman.
