An Instrument of Sasine dated 27th July 1679 in the reign of Chrles II, in favour of James Harkous, Attorney for Walter Guthrie of seven acres of arable infilled lands of Whytehill near the road from Musselburgh to Edmonston.
21 Lines in Scotts, plus Notary's docquet. Has the superb Notary Mark of Andrew Crauford, Notary Public, Clerk of St. Andrews.
The Guthrie Family is one of the oldest in Scotland and can be traced back beyond 1100. The family seat was Guthrie Castle.
