Rear early Bi-Colour Congreve Paper Tax Duty Stamp Ream Label dated 1846. The label is still on the paper packaging and was for a ream weighing 22 lbs.
The label was printed by Branston using the Compound Plate Security Printing Method. Robert Branston's name is printed under the Coat of Arms, at the bottom of the label in very small print stating, 'R.Branston'. However Robert Branston died in 1827. There are two Franking stating 'Paper Charon Maker 2123'
