This beautiful solid gold locket pendant was assayed (tested for gold purity) at Birmingham Assay Office in 1921.

The anterior surface is decorated with a flower basket which includes two forget-me-not flowers.

The posterior surface is ornamented with a garland of flowers and two delightful swallows.

Forget-me-not flowers symbolise deep love and respect.

Swallows have long been a lucky talisman for travellers.

They signify that the traveller will have a safe journey home.

Garlands of flowers are often believed to convey feelings of joy and devotion.

The original 9 carat gold frames, black material and clear portrait protectors are present.

The hinge and catch work perfectly.
