A Victorian brass doorstop or fireside ornament in the form of a striding horse. This is a beautiful, heavy cast piece - a classical, elegant design.

English, 19th Century c. 1840.

Wear commensurate with use & age - this has obviously been well cared for over the years as it is well polished and in a fine condition.

This doorstop (left facing) would work equally well as a decorative object in its own right, adorning a shelf or propping up a stack of books. The perfect gift for horse lovers / equestrians or hunting enthusiasts.
