Description

A rare and exceptional quality Victorian rosewood and marquetry tilt-top centre or breakfast table dating to c.1850. Superbly inlaid with floral marquetry to the walnut crossbanded edge and centre and with a further band of kingwood crossbanding and boxwood stringing. With kingwood crossbanding to the moulded edge on both the top and platform base, a deep rosewood crossbanded frieze and supported on a facetted column with platform base and three heavy lion paw feet with original concealed castors. In original unrestored condition with losses to the edge crossbanding on the table and platform and in need of repolishing.
