Description

One of a pair of super quality very large double-banked free-standing plan chests or collectors cabinets. In light quarter-sawn oak with two hinged doors and a sliding centre door, each door with fielded panels and flanked by fluted ionic columns, standing on a plinth base. The sides and back are also panelled allowing them to stand in the centre of a room.

Each chest has two banks of 9 strong open fronted drawers also in quarter-sawn oak. There is a finger groove to the underside of each drawer to assist opening and all the drawers slide in and out. The drawers measure 94cm wide x 63cm deep (37in x 24 3/4in) and range in height from 8.1-8.9cm (av. 3 1/4in). There are locks to the hinged doors but we do not have a key (one of the locks on one chest is in the locked position but does not stop the door opening because the sliding door can be moved away from the lock).

Condition
Excellent quality timber throughout (even the drawers), light marks/scratches to the front and sides consistent with age and use, tops faded and with more marks and also dry with some holes/flaking to the grains of the veneer (we will wax the tops on sale), no keys, old labels to interior.
