Early Victorian Mahogany Two Door Wardrobe
Description
Fantastic quality early Victorian mahogany two door wardrobe dating to circa 1840. With a rounded moulded cornice above two flame mahogany arched fielded panel doors with bold undulating mouldings and standing on a plinth base. The interior is well fitted with hooks, two pull-out sliding trays and four graduating short drawers to the left and along hanging section with hooks and a base drawer to the right. The right door is fitted it’s original lock by Clark & Timmins and comes with a working key. Hanging rails could easily be added if preferred the inside depth being 46.5cm (18 1/4in).
Excellent colour & grain to the timbers, solidly constructed and unusual for a two door wardrobe in that it splits into four sections for moving and ease of delivery (see below). The front is in good condition but there is veneer loss & splits to the sides at the top and on the plinth, there is also a section of moulding missing from the back of the cornice the right side. The fabric lining to the interior may be the original so you may wish to remove or replace it.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos.
The overall dimensions at the largest points are approximately

Depth 61cm (24in)

For transportation and moving this wardrobe splits into four sections (cornice, plinth, left hanging section, right hanging section).
