Description

A good 1855 Honourable company officers sword. The oldest regiment in the British army primarily a citizen militia. Officers would have had to pay for their for their service equipment including swords. This is a particularly good example with a highly gilded hilt and a copper wire bound shagrin grip in extremely good condition. The blade is Finley etched and in unrestored condition the etching is clear and strong. A nice sword fresh to the market from a private north Dorset house.
