Description

18th century Anglo-Dutch painted leather screen in country house condition. This screen was most likely made in England by Dutch craftsmen who settled in England during the time of William and Mary. The screen is large and could act as a room divider or hang on a wall as a large painting. It is a real interior decorator's piece. The subject of the painting is children playing. A nurse looks after the family who are playing Blind Man's Buff and a there's a child being pulled on a baby walker.

There have been some repairs to the leather at the base but none of the figures have had any re-working.

The leather is studded and fixed to an ebonised wood frame.
