Description

This finely detailed pair of mid-19th century bronzes are most likely of German manufacture. They depict two different left and right handed sculptures of medieval knights with muscular physique and tough expressions dressed in full armour, chainmail and helmets and are armed with an assortment of weapons .Both figures are holding lances which are displaying standard banners with their coat of arms. These would be displayed at battle. This rare pair of bronzes are of top quality with magnificent detail. They are of a good large scale and both figures are mounted onto circular naturalistic bronze bases and are both in very good condition and finished with a green/brown patination.
