Rams Head Antiques

Description

This is a pair of Chinese carved hardwood temple panels which date from the 19th century. Each panel has a snarling four clawed dragon wonderfully carved in great detail. The dragons have individually carved stylised scales and one even has an intriguing dragon carved tongue. The panels also have Chinese writing and other symbols carved. The panels are in remarkable condition bearing in mind their age, (circa 1850) due to their being hardwood and have a lovely patina to them. These are very dramatic decorative pieces and would look great hung on any wall or imposing on a stand on a piece of furniture. The panels are a good size measuring 58 cms by 44 cms.
