Description

This is an elegant French mantle clock in white marble dating from around 1890. The handsome clock has a Portico design with barrell movement supported between two columns decorated with gilt ormolu detailing and chains to the finials at the top and around the balustrades at the base. The visible pendulum has a sunburst design and the clock features a bronze ormolu figure to the centre in oriental garb. This is in excellent condition throughout and is in good running order, keeping good time. It is wound once a week, running eight days and striking a lovely tone on a bell on the hour and half hour. The enamel dial is in nice clean condition with Roman numerals and original gilt hands. This stands 37 cms high, 25 cms wide and 8 cms deep.
