Description

This is a beautiful pair of sleeve embroideries in bold vibrant colours dating from the late 19th century. The embroideries depict beautiful birds including Asiatic pheasants amongst colourful rose blooms and other blossom over a pretty bridge beneath a blue sky. These were originally hand embroidered as sleeve garment decoration for kimono or ceremonial robes. The embroideries are attractively presented in neat gilt frames with a rich blue mount. Each one measures 54 cms by 20 cms.
