Description

This is a good late 19th century bronze of a Saluki hound also often referred to as a Persian greyhound or Arabian hound. The dog is very well modelled, cast in bronze and mounted on this beautiful slice of polished fossilised tree trunk which has a fabulous figured grain and a marble like polished finish. The bronze is in excellent condition with a nice antique patina. The base has had a historic repair but is in good sound order with a lovely rich colour and is lined underneath with a green baize cloth.
The piece measures 26 cms wide by 8 cms high and 12.5 cms deep.
