These elegant cast iron horses are a superb pair that are a very rare find indeed being totally in their original paint which is in first class condition. The pair are cast by the Greenlees foundry in Glasgow and have the name cast in the reverse. The bases are beautifully faux marbleised and the horses are themselves a gorgeous rich chestnut colour. The condition of the paintwork is truly exceptional with no damage or chips or wear. Truly museum quality examples.
These have obviously been much loved and very well cared for throughout their many years. They would make excellent door stops or would look equally fine on a display on a mantle or shelf.
The horses measure 28 cms high by 28 cms wide by 7 cms deep.
