Description

This is a handsome and very characterful Georgian travelling trunk which dates from around 1820. The chest is in solid cedar wood and is covered in leather & pony skin with decorative close nailed brass studding to the top and sides. This has its original, good quality, lock & lift solid brass carrying handles and brass corner guards. It also has it's original brass lock (no key) and lifting ring to the front. The trunk has the initials, 'F F', of it's original owner to the front also. The hide is generally in very good order for it's age and it has a beautiful patination to the top where it has been rubbed over the years.
The chest is a good size measuring 93cm long by 46cm wide by 40cm high.
