Description

A fabulous example of a small desk-top postal or letter scale dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890. The base is made from Mahogany and the scale from polished brass. The brass balance is signed by the manufacturer, Windle & Blythe They are also stamped "Warranted Accurate".

The right-hand pan is rather unusual being oval, and is engraved with the postal rates during the late Victorian and Edwardian era. The weight pan is also beautifully decorated with hand engraving. The scale has a good set of brass weights, including the little bell-shaped 1/4oz topper.

A beautiful desk-top accessory in excellent condition. 7 1/4" x 5" x 4" tall.
