Description

Late 17th century walnut Escritoire in 2 sections. Below a square moulded cornice is a long drawer. The feather-banded fall front opens to reveal a leather writing surface and a fitted interior with pigeon holes and drawers (including secret drawers) The lower chest of 2 short and 2 long drawers sit on bun feet. The feet and exterior brassware are sympathetic replacements. The interior drop handles are original. Superb warm colour and minimal restoration makes this piece of William and Mary period walnut a treasure. Circa 1700.
