Description

William and Mary Chest of Drawers, veneered throughout with oysters of laburnum wood. This fine example of 17th century craftsmanship has a top veneered with concentric and overlapping circles, picked out with fine line inlay of holly. Holly is used as a light contrast on the top, drawers and sides. The drawers are lined with oak. The bun feet are old replacements in the same style of the original feet. The brass handles are replacements, copied from handles of this period. The backboards are original.
The patina on this chest of drawers is exceptional, an undisturbed surface with great colour.
