Description

An unusually small and charming early 19th century mahogany sideboard. In superb original condition, it is bow-fronted, with a galleried top and 3 drawers. The drawers, of well chosen flame mahogany, with their original turned wood knobs, are oak lined. The edge of the top is crossbanded with fruitwood. Decorative line inlay defines the central knee-hole and bottom edge. It stands on 4 square tapered legs with spade feet. The left back leg is slightly inset the sideboard was obviously tailor made for a specific situation. A simple but fine piece of late Georgian furniture.
