A handsome and fine quality late Victorian mahogany pedestal desk. The top has an inset leather scriber with gilt tooling, an ogee mould to the edge, and is raised on two pedestals with graduating drawers and original pierced back plate handles, flanked by reeded stiles and raised on plinth bases. Condition and Details of Restoration

This item is in original structural condition and is completely sound. The polish has been re-finished, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. We have also had the leather scriber replaced, with the finest hand-stained genuine cow hide. There are some old marks, knocks, and scuffs underneath the polish, as might be expected on a desk of this age, but nothing major. In our opinion, the photographs are representative.
