In exceptional condition - This is a beautiful hand painted, white guilloche enamel powder compact by La Mode. Measuring 2.2/8" (5.7cm) dia, it is scolloped to the edge, and set into a quality ornate gold tone base which is fully enamelled to the rear, all clasps & hinges areperfect, opening to reveal a powder well and a highly polished steel mirror which is also an inner opening lid, which reveals a discreet rouge compartment. The hand painted, birds of paradise to the front are exquisite. La Mode, were an American company producing powder compacts as early as 1930. This is a very nice piece in a lovely vintage condition that will not disappoint!
