This fine, beautifully enamelled powder compact is a delight, a collector's dream!. Detailed hand painted enamel, depicting a country scene, which shimmers in a subtle and elegant way. Set to a full base of fine powder blue guilloche enamel. Beautifully gilded inside, with a convex framed mirror to the top. Hallmarked for S&Co with the Birmingham Silver Import Mark for 1926. The detail is fabulous, even the edge of the powder bowl is finely engraved to the silver. In amazing condition, under the eye glass I can see a slight mark to one outer edge (see supersized photos) which in my opinion does not detract whatsoever but I mention for accurracy. The enamelled top is perfect. These beautiful, individual hand painted enamels are becoming impossible to find in this sort of exquisite condition.
