Antique bench mounted Cartridge Filler - would have been used for filling or refilling cartridges for shooting.
Appears to be slightly smaller than 12 bore.
Dates to about 1900.
A superb tool, which works perfectly - all joints and screws are completely free. The two wooden handles are made of elm.
Made of black steel, and painted black, but most of the original paint has gone.
There is a mark stamped on the side, which could be three numbers - 1 8 ?, or three letters - I D P, possibly.
Or it could be - 1 0 ?, referring to 10 bore.

Overall length:- 228 millimetres / 8.94 inches.
