Description

Designed by Krajewski Andrzej, the black and white collage artwork depicting several characters and themes, many being close ups, with a higher central tile with title, Francuski Lacznik – The French Connection.

Winning the Oscar for best film in 1971, this gritty Gene Hackman crime thriller features a pair of NYC cops in the Narcotics Bureau stumbling into a drug smuggling job with a French connection. The movie also sees director William Friedkin providing audiences with one of the most gripping and memorable car chase sequences ever filmed.

The poster itself is in excellent condition and is now displayed in a quality glazed frame. The designer, Andrzej Krajewski, was born in 1933 in Poznan. In 1963 he graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and specialises in applied graphic arts, cartoons and posters.

With restrictions on the designs of cinema posters in Eastern Europe being more relaxed, this makes for a far more artfully astute design than its American one sheet counterpart. As such, its purchase is a good choice for the more discerning buyer of filmic art.
