Description

This is an interesting and rare religious antique. A fine quality and very heavy 18th Century church ceremonial brass bucket, c1790. It is beautifully cast and decorated with various religious scenes, and has Latin script encircling the top.

We think the inscription reads 'PA MA Florebit IV STVS VI '. It is understood that it would have been used for carrying hot coals, but we would welcome any information regarding this unusual item.

The bucket is in very good condition given its age and likely use, and the surface wear is what you would expect from a piece that has been handled over many years. Please refer to the detailed photographs and feel free to contact us with any questions.
