Description

MOVEMENT Signed gilt brass verge movement, with four square pillars, engraved balance cock and plate, and large silver regulator disc. Complete and original condition, running well.

DIAL Fine silver champleve dial, with calendar aperture, signed in the centre. Nice 18th century steel beetle and poker hands.
There are two of the gilt half hour markers missing. The calendar wheel, under the dial, is present but the drive wheel for the calendar is missing, so the calendar is not functioning.

INNER CASE Silver, no hallmarks. Generally good condition throughout with a few light bruises on the back. There is a crack to the bezel, though the hinge is fine. The high dome bull's eye crystal is fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely.

OUTER CASE Silver, again no hallmarks but a rubbed maker's mark. Good condition, with just a couple of light bruises on the back. The hinge, catch and catch button are fine and the case snaps shut nicely,

Charles Skedge is listed in Norwich during the mid 18th century.
