DescriptionMahogany brass dial longcase clock by William Parr of London. Superb quality, mahogany, longcase clock made by William Parr of London. The 12” arch dial has a silvered chapter ring, date aperture and seconds ring with a strike/silent facility in the arch. Behind this is an 8-day 5 pillar movement striking hourly on a bell. The pendulum is brass faced and has a matched pair of original brass case weights. The case is exceptional having highly figured flame mahogany veneers to the trunk and base. The trunk has canted and fluted corners with brass splines inset at the bottom and the hood also has fluted columns again with the brass inserts. The hood finishes at the top with the 3 fluted pillars supporting 2 ball & spires and 1 ball & eagle with fretted filigree between. The hood has side windows to view the movement.
