This is the “deluxe” version of the distance measuring instrument with a demountable wheel for ease of transport - still retaining it’s original brass spanner ( housed in a sliding lid compartment ) for assembling the wheel to the pivots.The left arm of the “forks” is articulated for ease of assembly.
Used for measuring distances between points on roads or racecourses.
Can be restored to your taste or left untouched.In good accurate working order. Reads miles, furlongs, poles and yards.
