A Fine Antique Edwardian Scottish Cut Glass and Sterling Silver Mounted Claret Jug, SKU W2516. This claret jug has a tapering cylindrical form to a bulbous body. A Fine, Rare and Unusual Victorian Scottish Sterling Silver Whiskey Flask with Curling Interest, SKU W2530. This unusual item has an ovoid flask shaped form with a waisted neck. There is profuse scrolling acanthus leaf and floral embossed and chased decoration to the body and neck. To the front of the body is a shaped vacant cartouche surmounted by two crossed curling brooms and a banner with the inscription 'May we ne'er lie a Hog when we should be at the Tee'. The flask retains the original two-piece hallmarked stopper. The upper part of the stopper has a frosted finish and is modelled in the form of a curling stone. The lower part of the stopper functions as a whiskey tot/measure. These two parts fasten neatly together via a bayonet fitting. A Fine Antique Victorian Scottish Sterling Silver Teapot, SKU W2500. This fine Scottish teapot has a circular bullet shaped form onto a circular domed foot. The teapot has profuse embossed and chased foliate decoration. To either side of the teapot are shaped vacant cartouche. The teapot has a hallmarked hinged cover with the original chased acanthus leaf bud style finial. The teapot has a swan necked spout with chased foliate and acanthus leaf decoration. The hallmarked C scroll handle also has significant chased acanthus leaf decoration. Maker Marshall & Sons, Origin Edinburgh, Scotland, Date 1875. Condition This teapot is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition. The decoration is very crisp and sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the base, and part hallmarks as expected, struck to the interior of the cover and handle are all very clear. Antique Oak Scottish Partners Desk This attractive antique oak partners desk was made by the Glasgow firm of Wylie and Lochhead, a famous Scots furniture maker. Each pedestal has a 'Wylie and Lochhead' stamp with the number 10043. The desk has ben made from high quality and expensive quarter cut solid oak with very attractive figuring throughout and a pleasing honey coloured patina. The top has a replacement bottle green writing leather with gilt and blind tooling. This is surrounded by a 3 inch band of oak with a thumb moulded edge and rounded corners. Each of the working sides is fitted with three ash lined drawers with brass locks and turned wooden knob pulls. The central drawer of the all drawer side is fitted with a writing / reading slope which is exposed when the drawer is opened. This can easily be removed if the standard drawer is preferred. The pedestals have rounded corners and are each fitted with three drawers to the front and a cupboard with shelf and paneled door to the reverse. The pedestals stand on plinth bases with the original concealed castors making it very easy to move once assembled. Our Reference SN426

A superb oil on canvas by the Scottish artist Mary Ballantyne EXH 1910- 1939.The picture is titled"Teaching new tricks" and was painted by her between 1910-1920. The work was bought at auction in the 1980s and formed part of the studio sale of Mary Ballantyne and her husband Robert Wilkie after their death. Mary Ballantyne regularly exhibited at the Royal Glasgow Institute and the Royal Scottish Society.
