A Fine and Impressive Antique Victorian 15 Carat Yellow Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Black Onyx Brooch, SKU W3052. This fine brooch has a rectangular tapering form. It has a millegrain decorated platinum engraved frame. The brooch is claw set with a total of sixteen graduating Old European round cut diamonds two 0.25ct, two x 0.20ct, two x 0.15ct, two x 0.10ct, two x 0.07ct, two x 0.05ct, two 0.03ct two 0.01ct. The three sets of diamonds are separated by two sets of four graduating square cut black onyx two x 0.25ct, two x 0.20ct, two x 0.15ct two x 0.10ct. The brooch is secured to the rear with a bar pin and clasp in 15ct yellow gold. This brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading card. DATE circa 1890. This fine brooch has a pierced decorated 18ct yellow gold frame set with Australian opals and Old European round cut diamonds. The brooch a central vertically set oval shaped opal, flanked on either side by two slightly smaller, horizontally set oval shaped opals. There are two x 0.25ct Old European round cut diamonds to each side of the cental opal, and a further two 0.20ct Old European round cut diamonds set the ends of the brooch.
