An Edwardian mahogany coal depot. The depot has a removeable metal liner with two handles, a sloping hinged lid that is carved in the centre and brass strap hinges. The strap hinges have an embossed decoration and are fastened to the depot with brass screws. The depot has a half round brass handle on the top, a bracket at the back to hold the shoveland stands on four original metal casters. The shovel itself has a turned wood handle and a brass scoop. The coal box is in a good condition and has an original colour to the wood. The depot does have some marks from use while the shovel does have some wear, again from use.
