Take a close look. This is the hood of a Scottish regulator clock and dial signed Robert Forster of Corbridge. Dating from around 1830 this would have been a floor standing clock used by a clockmaker to time all the clocks in his workshop . The dial is in 3 parts - an outer ring for the minutes and 2 inner rings for the hours and seconds. Now fitted with 3 seperate quartz movements to give even greater accuracy than the original antique. A real focal point.

The bakerlite case of this Smiths 50's clock is in primrose yellow - a colour not commonly found but works really well with the chrome bezel surrounding the dial. The clock has a mechanically movement working but not 100% accurate and could be fitted with quartz if preffered.

The interesting features of this clock are the raised chrome arabic numbers and minute markers, plus the convex shape of the wooden dial itself. It has that real 1930's look about it and might have hung in a hotel lobby of the period. Originally with a mechanical movement it is now fitted with a quartz movement for precision timing.
