A really lovely example of a late Victorian/early 20th century bentwood hat and coat stand. The top section, with its four coat hooks and four bentwood scrolls for hats, is surmounted by a turned beehive finial. The triple cluster columned upright is supported by three downswept legs with a retaining ring for sticks and umbrellas. This fine hallstand has its original finish with a fine colour and patination. The etagere is extensively line inlaid with boxwood and satinwood cross banding along with marquetry panels. The mahogany is a fine figured plum pudding graining that has matured to a good mellow colour.It is in excellent showroom condition having been cleaned, revived and waxed.
