Made by a fine cabinet maker of the period utilising only the best timbers and veneers.Breaks into top and base for ease of delivery. Part 18th C' Oak and cross banded mahogany Bureau Bookcase, 2 door upper section with applied lozenge design mould to outer doors when open reveals 3 fixed shelves,above fall front bureau when open reveals appealling fitted interior, above 2 short drawers and 3 graduating all cross banded with mahogany each fitted with brass handles which have been fitted in the last 50 years,the bureau stands on its original oak bracket feet.NB this you would have to be told as it is well proportioned, but the top in the early 19 th C has been added but has been very carefully matched and this is reflected in the pricing of this item, nevertheless a very good looking functional item at a fraction of the real cost.
