William IV Silver Mustard Spoon, Exeter, 1832

This is a smart William IV Sterling Silver Mustard Spoon in the traditional Fiddle pattern. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.
The mustard spoon was made by William Woodman of Bristol and assayed in Exeter in 1832. William Woodman was active in Bristol between 1818 and 1838. After his death, the company was continued by Robert Williams and would eventually become Josiah Williams & Co. Because Bristol didn't have its own assay office, William Woodman sent his pieces to Exeter, the principal office for South West England, to be marked.
Condition is good, with just a very slight nick in the rim of the bowl and the superficial surface wear that you would expect after 190 years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The mustard spoon is 12.2cm / 4.8ins long and weighs in at 10.0g / 0.35oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks, on the underside of the stem, are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the three towered wall assay mark for Exeter, the date letter q for 1832, the George IV duty mark (Exeter didn't introduce a William IV duty mark until 1834) and the W W makers' mark for William Woodman.
Shipping in the UK is £4 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For.
