Solid silver KIGU powder compact 1973

This compact is suitable for use with modern loose & pressed / solid face powder or as a handbag mirror.

A gorgeous fully hallmarked sterling silver Kigu 'Convertible' compact with the original signed Kigu sifter. The whole piece is in excellent condition & will never need to be cleaned as the silver is protected by a coat of lacquer. The lid is exquisitely beautiful. The silver is satinized & decorated with what Kigu describe as a 'raised floral pattern'. This pattern comprises of field roses, rose hips & foliage. Around this design is a circular band engraved with foliage. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The beveled mirror is excellent & gives a perfect accurate reflection. The mirror bezel is signed 'KIGU MADE IN ENGLAND' & hallmarked. The case & thumb catch have further hallmarks showing that this compact was assayed at London in 1973. The base has an engine turned design made up of tiny diamond shapes.

This solid silver powder compact measures 3 1/4" & weighs 95 grams.
