Vintage Silver Handled Cake Server, Harrison Brothers 1972

Here we have a Vintage Cake Server from the 1970s with a Sterling Silver handle and a stainless steel blade. The handle is in the classic King's Pattern. There are no initials or personalisation. This would be ideal for use at a wedding, a fiftieth birthday party in 2022 or any special occasion involving cake!
The stainless steel blade is made by Sheffield cutlers Webber & Hill and the Sterling Silver handle is made by Harrison Brothers, also in Sheffield and dates the cake server to 1972. Both these companies were prominent manufacturers of cutlery and flatware in the second half of the 20th century.
Condition is good with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that has to be expected after nearly 50 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The cake server is 25.2cm / 10ins long and 5.3cm / 2.1ins in width across the blade. It weighs 73.2g / 2.58oz but this is obviously a mixture of silver and steel.
The blade is marked Webber & Hill, Sheffield Cutlery, Stainless Steel. The handle is clearly hallmarked with the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter E for 1972 and the HB in a diamond makers' mark for Harrison Brothers.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
Overseas customers please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
