Scottish Silver Table Snuff

Glasgow 1893

Approximate dimensions 92mm x 62mm x 28mm, weight 156g.

The snuff has surface marks associated with normal use along with rubbing of the engine turned design and decoration.

The hinge is in good working order.

The interior gilding has discoloured through use.

The inscription on the lid reads

"Presented to Edward Taylor Esq

by a few friends as a tokenof respect

and in commemoration of the

extension and reconstruction of his premises

March 1894"
