This Victorian oak pedestal desk we attribute to being made and retailed by Maple & co.
It has all the characteristics of the quality of their manufacture.
This desk is made in 3 parts, this allows for easy movement to and around your home or office.
The top section is fitted the usual wide drawer above the kneehole and the matching width drawers to the ones in each pedestal all lined in fine mahogany and with the original brass swing handles.
Each pedestal is fitted 3 graduated drawers again with all lined in fine mahogany and with the original brass swing handles.
This size of desk we find as the most desirable size for domestic use as it not only gives superb working space but also is not too big.
The inset hide leather writing surface is hand dyed and again hand gilt tooled. It is not a leather that can be bought cheaply off a roll, but all carefully and skilfully made to look as if it has been on the desk since it was first made.
