Victorian Mahogany Breakfront Library Bookcase

A good quality late Victorian mahogany breakfront library bookcase with a Gothic/Arts & Crafts feel and featuring quarter panelled cupboard doors with canted angles to the edges.
This bookcase has a moulded cornice above three glazed doors also with canted angles to the surround and uprights, each section has four adjustable shelves allowing over 23ft (7.2m) of books to be displayed whilst the projecting base has unusual quarter panelled doors opening to reveal cupboards with a shelf to each side and three shelves to the centre. Each door has the original ‘VR’ secure lever stamped lock and comes with keys. Please note that not all upper section shelves are shown in the photographs.
This bookcase is in good condition, the colour of the mahogany has mellowed/faded and there are minor veneer nibbles to the base of the top section at the sides and the far right of the front, the left side of the top section has a split to the veneer at the top back and a small chip to the bottom back of the left side, there are also some scrapes to the centre part of the top surface caused by the door opening. The back is made from solid wood (not a plywood). All locks work except the left lower left cupboard door which may just need a key making.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or for more photos.
