This Victorian large Wellington chest was first made circa 1865
The proportions of this Wellington chest are generous, and so this is an important looking piece for your home or office.
Fitted 8 graduated drawers with the original turned mahogany knob handles. Having this many drawers gives fantastic storage.
These chests are fantastic for domestic or office use.
They look magnificent in the home or grand in an office setting.
This version has the rare feature of a lift up lid. When opened it reveals a open storage area.
At the time this chest was made many interesting events were making the news. Lord Palmerston had just increased his majority in a General Election.
A train crash at Staplehurst had occurred, with 10 fatalities, Charles Dickens was one of the survivors.
