This is a fine example of a Victorian inlayed mahogany ladies writing desk (Bonheur du Jour).

The desk has a tooled dark green leather top incorporating a central mirror with attached side drawers. There are also 2-off drawers under the tabletop each has a working lock and drop handles.

The desk top is supported on inlayed tapering legs terminating with brass ferrules and porcelain castors.
