A magnificent antique Victorian mahogany open armchair in Chippendale style design dating from circa 1890 with Gillows label to seat rail. Featuring a carved back splat, standing on square legs united by cross stretchers. The drop-in seat has been newly recovered in a quality grey fabric. Comfortable and sturdy, would make a wonderful desk chair. There are some old splits to the seat rail – a large one to the corner (see photo). The chair frame is solid but the split would benefit some professional restoration.
