Victorian Armchair, Antique Club Chair c1880
This is an antique armchair in the manner of Howard and Sons dating to the late Victorian period c.1880.
The deep seat with raked, scrolled back and similarly scrolled arms cossets the sitter in a relaxing comfortable manner.
Bowed at the front and traditionally upholstered and well sprung the armchair is currently covered in a fabric displaying William Morris overtones, trimmed with complimentary braiding.
Raised on mahogany square section rear legs and tapered, ring turned feet the front, the chair rides on the original brass mounted, ceramic castors.
A substantial quality piece, comfortable and with good proportions, delivered ready for the home as is or could be recovered to suit any décor.
