Silver pair cases, repousse - Wilders, London 1784

MOVEMENT Signed and numbered (6634) gilt brass verge movement, with four square pillars, engraved balance bridge and plate, and silver regulator disc. A few scratches to the plates, but complete and running.
DIAL White enamel polychrome dial, in very good condition, with just one light hairline near the edge between 9 and 10, and a small chip at the catch at 6. The painted scene is in fine condition.
INNER CASE 43.25 mm. Silver, hallmarked for London, 1784, maker mark rubbed but also stamped with the movement serial number. The case has a few bruises on the back but generally in good condition. The hinge is fine and the bezel snaps shut nicely, The high dome bull's eye crystal has some light scratches, but no chips or cracks.
OUTER CASE Silver repousse. Good condition with usual wear to high points of the repousse work, resulting in just one small hole, to the head of the right hand figure. The hinge, catch and catch button are fine and the case snaps shut nicely.
Wilders is a name commonly used to sign watches made on the Continent during the mid 18th century. These are usually marked 'London' but were probably made in Holland or Switzerland.
